Synesthesia Rave
CREATIVE DIRECTION, GRAPHIC DESIGN, & STAGE VISUALS

MADE WITH: Illustrator, Photoshop, Blender, and After Effects.
In Fall 2022 a local event promoter (and USC’s favorite coffee popup), Cup of Troy, approached me with an idea for a rave showcasing the work of local animators. I got to work translating their goals for the event into a visual identity and collection of marketing assets!
Event Poster
I wanted all of my assets to feel like they were part of a cohesive video game world, and so I wrote a quick blurb for myself to go off of as I was putting together my moodboards: “You are a teen living in a cyber future city who listens to underground music. Your friends play in bands, like to eat pizza and hack technology. The cool kids are having an end of the summer bash and you’re invited.” I was really inspired by the worlds of Jet Set Radio, My Life As a Teenage Robot, Nam Mac, and Eli Nowitzky.
I drew reference images for my character, Skye, on procreate and then modeled and textured them in Blender. To save time since I wasn’t going to be animating Skye, I used Mixamo to create a very rough rig.

Memory Cards

I designed this side of Synesthesia’s “memory cards”. Attendees could scan the QR code on the back of these cards to see photos from the show.
